President Ersin Tatar travels to Ardahan to hold contacts

President Ersin Tatar completed his visit to Kars and went to Ardahan.

President Ersin Tatar will give a conference at Ardahan University, meet with veterans and business people.

President Ersin Tatar first gave an interview to the press members in Ardahan.

President Tatar stated that he brought the love of the Turkish Cypriot people from TRNC to Ardahan and said that he is pleased to be in historical Ardahan.

Pointing out the importance of Ardahan in Turkish history and commemorating the martyrs, President Tatar noted that the Turkish Cypriot people also struggled for existence, just like here, and that they established their State with the support of the Republic of Türkiye.

Stating that he is accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı, who is from Ardahan, President Tatar stated that there are citizens from all over Türkiye who settled on the island after 1974 and contribute to the development of the country.

President Tatar noted that they introduced and explained the TRNC through the visits they organized to explain the just cause of the Turkish Cypriot people and to improve ties.

Stating that TRNC is a developing island in every field including tourism, agriculture, education and science, President Tatar said that they expect visits from Türkiye by students, tourists and investors.

Stating that Ardahan - a developing city- is a place with various riches, and the transportation in Erzurum, Kars and Ardahan are very easy even in severe winter conditions, President Tatar congratulated the officials led by the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who created this strong infrastructure.

President Tatar reminded that during the years of national struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people, the leader Dr. Fazıl Küçük used the code name ‘Ağrı’ and the leader Rauf Raif Denktaş used the code name ‘Toros’ and he emphasized that the Republic of Türkiye is with and in the hearts of the Turkish Cypriot people at every stage.

Recalling the TMT struggle in Cyprus, President Tatar noted that the same sacrifices were made here and that this played an important role in the establishment of the Republic.

President Tatar thanked his brothers from Ardahan for their hospitality, pointed out the importance of the visits in terms of developing ties, and wished for the development of mutual trade, tourism and educational visits.

President Tatar also commemorated those who lost their lives in the traffic accident that occurred in the Sakarya region today and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
