President Ersin Tatar visits Gazimağusa Special Needs Education Center together with First Lady Sibel Tatar

In his speech during his visit, President Tatar expressed that he is happy to see the perfectly appropriate and effective training being given in the special needs education centre.  

Stating that he was aware of educational activities being continued in full during the pandemic period, President Tatar thanked the school principal, all teachers and families who work with devotion.  


PRESIDENT TATAR: “THESE CHILDREN ARE OUR CHILDREN”  

Stating that the Presidential Committee for People with Disabilities is working and continuing with its consultations to pass the Special Needs Education Law in Parliament, President Tatar said: “These children are our children. We will always continue to support the development of the education system so that they can be brought up as valuable individuals who are integrated into our society, within the possibilities of our state.”  

PRESIDENT TATAR: “NEEDS CAN BE MET THROUGH PRIVATE INVESTMENTS, CONTRIBUTIONS AND SPONSORS”  

Expressing that in unity and solidarity, the Turkish Cypriot people show sensitivity on this issue, President Tatar stated: "Our children with special needs can be met through private investments, contributions and sponsors". The President called for the necessary contributions to be made for this objective.

 

CHOIR PROJECT OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE FIRST LADY

During the visit, First Lady Sibel Tatar announced  in her speech that the choir, which consists of individuals with special needs and children attending Special Needs Education Schools, has reached the stage of realisation in cooperation with the TRNC Presidential Committee for People with Disabilities.  

Mrs. Tatar stated that within the scope of the project carried out by Presidential Art Advisor Laden İnce and the head of the TRNC Presidential Committee People with Disabilities, Ahmet Akdeniz,  as well as with the support of music teachers, selections will be made amongst children who are musically oriented and can receive music education. Mrs. Tatar said: “We are very excited about this project. It is our desire to see these children on stage and to give them opportunities to be successful.” 

Mrs. Tatar stated that they aim for our children to benefit from equality of opportunity, and said that they have implemented the project to ensure that equal opportunities are applied in arts as well as in education.


President Ersin Tatar visited the fitness center, ceramics workshop, wax-plaster workshop, kitchen workshop, printing and woodwork shop, paint workshop, sewing workshop and music workshop in the special needs education centre for under 18s. He was accompanied by Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek and his wife Prof. Dr. Sibel Dinçyürek, President’s Private Secretary Çağın Zort, Presidential Director of Press and Public Relations Doç. Dr. Münevver Çağın, Presidential Social Policies and Social Services Advisor Aydan Başkurt, Presidential Art Advisor Laden İnce and Head of TRNC Presidential Committee for People with Disabilities, Ahmet Akdeniz.
