President Tatar calls on the public following increase in new Covid-19 cases: "We must continue to adhere to the measures" onnection with the increasing number of new Covid-19 cases in recent days
President Ersin Tatar has called all the TRNC residents to adhere to Covid-19 related measures by wearing protective masks, adhering to social distancing measures and observing good hygiene.
Noting that the TRNC has successfully managed the pandemic due to the national vaccination program and widely implemented Covid-19 tests, the President emphasised the importance of continuing to comply with individual measures in this process.
President Tatar drew attention to the rapid increase in the number of cases with the Omicron variant in our country, as in the rest of the world, reiterating that the cases have risen in many countries, including South Cyprus and Turkey, our neighbours, due to the higher contagiousness of the Omicron variant. President Tatar emphasised the importance of common vaccination and boosters as well as the taking effective measures on an individual basis by wearing protective masks, social distancing and hygiene rules.
President Tatar pointed out that when analyses is made of the hospitalisation and mortality rates in different countries including the TRNC compared to the number of new cases, it can be observed that the virus is being kept under control with widespread vaccination and measures.
President Tatar thanked all health workers who have been working devotedly for almost two years.
