Prime Minister and Chairman of the UBP Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu presented the resignation of the existing government to President Ersin Tatar  to enable the  new government to be formed

Prime Minister and Chairman of the UBP Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu visited the Office of the Presidency today at 2 pm and presented the resignation of the government to President Ersin Tatar.
 
In an online meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu, the President said that despite feeling well on the sixth day of having tested positive for the Omicron virus, his isolation period will finish after two consecutive negative results of his PCR tests, as per the pandemic procedure. He also underlined what he had stated previously, that the state of his own health will not hinder the efforts to form a government. 
 
 
 
"The current government will be in office until the new Council of Ministers take office"
 
 
Expressing that he will be handing  over the mandate of forming a new government to Prime Minister and UBP Chairman Faiz Sucuoğlu whose party has the most deputies in the TRNC Assembly, the President reminded that pursuant to the Constitution, the new term deputies can mandate forming the  government following the Parliamentary oath taking ceremony and requested  that the current Council of Ministers will continue to be in office until the new government is formed.
 
 
 
“I will hand over the mandate of forming a new government to Dr. Sucuoğlu on Tuesday”
 
 
Reiterating that the country will not be left without a government, President Tatar said he will hand over the mandate of forming the new government on Tuesday to UBP Chairman and Prime Minister Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu and that the new cabinet, which will receive a vote of confidence in the Parliamentary Assembly, will take office after the new government is approved.
 
 
President Tatar also wished success to all the deputies who took office today and expressed his wish for the establishment of a stable government that will serve the people.
 
 
Dr. Sucuoğlu: “We started informal meetings immediately after the election”
 
 
UBP Chairman and Prime Minister Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu started his speech by conveying his best wishes to President Tatar.
 
Dr. Sucuoğlu noted that the current Council of Ministers presented its resignation to President Tatar in order to enable the Council of Ministers to be reconstituted in the Early General Elections for the Parliament held on January 23, 2022. He stated that they hope to receive the authority to form the government tomorrow from President Tatar.
 
Stating that they started informal meetings with the parties immediately after the election, UBP Chairman and Prime Minister Dr. Faiz Sucuoglu said "Hopefully we will  establish a 5-year government that will not create problems and provide stability.”
